This industry standard certification class will teach you how to recognize avalanche terrain, and provide a framework for managing risk and making decisions. This practical course will start with three sessions in the classroom, then a weekend in the Baker Backcountry learning to apply your knowledge.

The Outdoor Center has teamed up with Remote Medical International to offer this 80-hour "WFR" certification that is the standard worldwide for Outdoor Professionals. The Wilderness First Responder Course emphasizes decision-making, hands-on skills and theoretical knowledge necessary to function in remote areas, as well as providing a strong foundation to progress on to more advanced levels of training.
